Violence fondée sur le genre et violence entre partenaires intimes, ITSS et santé publique

Publication Summary

Dans les Prairies canadiennes, les épidémies de VIH et de syphilis sont alimentées par une syndémie de l’absence de logement, des expériences vécues de la colonisation, de l’usage de substances psychoactives, de la violence et de l’implication dans le système de justice. Ces fiches d’information s’appuient sur les travaux récents du CCNMI sur les refuges, l’incarcération et le VIH. Les fiches d’information examinent dans quelle mesure la violence fondée sur le genre et l’absence de logement sont des problèmes interdépendants qui trouvent leur origine dans la colonisation, et expliquent comment ils augmentent la vulnérabilité à l’infection par le VIH, en particulier chez les femmes autochtones.
